Role Profile:

Overseeing and managing the HR function for  Morocco and ensure that the HR Strategies are aligned with the business and strategic objectives.

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • Understand and manage the company’s HR strategy according to the managed population.
  • Determine the flagship projects according to this strategy and the expectations of the operational staff to ensure progression within the organisation in line with business objectives.
  • Define and implement the HR strategy and manage the HR budget in line with business objectives.
  • Managing Internal communication.
  • Autonomously lead the multiple HR projects corresponding to the HR strategy e.g. alignment and implementation of organization chart and organization of working time.
  • Propose and validate the nature and schedule of HR projects with the scope of the HR unit.
  • Respond to requests from operational staff in all areas of HR (labour law, training, recruitment, employment contracts, career management and compensation).
  • Call upon, if necessary, specialized expertise (internally or externally) e.g. legal advice, payroll.
  • Handling the whole recruitment process from identifying recruitment needs till induction of employees.
  • Provide support to managers in applying labour law and in the development of teams (recruitment, career management, etc.).
  • Aid in the development and management of high-performing teams through effective recruitment and career management practices.
  • Supporting operational staff in their decisions relating to HR (recruitment, dismissal, evaluation interview, promotion, conflict, etc.),
  • Help integrate the HR perspective into their strategic decision-making processes through a consultative approach.
  • Develop and maintain the company’s employee handbook, including policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
  • Define and ensure adherence to all HR policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Oversee time and attendance and all data related to payroll for confirmation of monthly payroll.
  • Manage the health and safety function to establish and promote a safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement necessary measures to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Conduct safety training for employees and raise awareness about health and safety best practices.
  • Coordinate HR activities, monitor and control implementations.
  • Establish effective HR monitoring and reporting tools to track key performance indicators and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
  • Compile and submit monthly reports to headquarters as may be requested.
  • Assess operational satisfaction with the HR service rendered and the expected results through an employee engagement survey and through other tools as may be necessary.
  • Liaise with suppliers, authorities, and other entities on behalf of the company.
  • Oversee the IT function for the organisation. Troubleshoot first line issues and liaise with the IT team in Malta and/or IT suppliers for more complex issues to ensure smooth running of the organisation.
  • Overseeing HR events and ensuring the success and participation of all the organisation.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Knowledge required:

  • Master degree in HR management or a related subject.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Versatility in all areas of human resources management: recruitment, training, employment law, career management, payroll.
  • Able to understand the business and company culture, to promote dialogue with operational staff and to be credible with them
  • Knowledge of the retail sector to be able to implement sector related HR initiatives.
  • Mastery of IT tools (Word) and HR software
  • Good oral and written communication to establish quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Listening skills to consider the expectations of operational staff
  • Flexibility and firmness in the context of relations with operational staff
  • Strength of conviction to get ideas and projects across, as well as the ability to negotiate
  • Sense of organization to carry out these projects and control their implementation
  • Ability to lead several projects at the same time
