Role purpose

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will play a pivotal role in collaborating with teams, managers, and key stakeholders to enhance organizational and people capability within our company based in Malta. The primary focus will be on providing comprehensive HR support and ensuring the implementation of effective people strategies aligned with the company’s goals and values. 

The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows: 

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to address and resolve people-related challenges within the organization. 
  • Proactively support operational restructures and change programs in adherence to company policy and HR best practices. 
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new pay and reward schemes, including job evaluation and equal pay initiatives, to ensure equity across all levels of the organization. 
  • Develop tailored solutions to assist business areas in achieving their strategic objectives. 
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across the business to effectively influence and drive positive change. 
  • Serve as a local point of expertise for specialist teams, providing guidance on the implementation of new HR initiatives. 
  • Utilize analytical skills to question and challenge existing processes, identifying root causes of people and business issues. 
  • Provide coaching and constructive feedback to key stakeholders to enhance overall business efficiency. 
  • Oversee the entire employee life cycle, ensuring seamless coordination and communication among various departments regarding changes and developments. 
  • Offer expert advice, guidance, and coaching to stakeholders at all levels within the organization. 
  • Support the resolution of complex employee relations issues, demonstrating sound judgment and adherence to legal requirements. 
  • Develop, monitor, and refine HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures to drive organizational effectiveness and compliance. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to legal regulations and compliance standards across all HR practices. 
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of new initiatives aligned with the company’s overarching business strategy. 

KPIs

  • Employee Relations Resolution Rate: Percentage of complex employee relations issues resolved satisfactorily within agreed timelines. 
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction Score: Average satisfaction score of key stakeholders (e.g., managers, department heads) based on pulse surveys. 
  • Implementation of HR Initiatives: Number of new HR initiatives successfully implemented within specified timeframes.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience

  • Demonstrable experience providing complex employee relations/generalist HR advice and guidance to senior leaders. 
  • CIPD qualification or degree-level qualification in HR (desirable).
  • Five years’ experience working within similar role.  
  • Proven track record of effectively managing a significant caseload of HR cases, from initiation to successful resolution.
  • In-depth expertise in current HR legislation and best practices. 
  • Excellent planning and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
