Take your career to the next level! We are on lookout for a FULL-TIME Assistant Store Manager to work at our Nike Store at The Point in Sliema, to support the manager and be accountable for store operations.

Role Purpose:
Take charge of customer service excellence standards; ensure company requirements and guidelines are met, and to promote the company’s image of quality and professionalism.

Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Monitor shop floor, staff performance and manage deployment rota in most cost effective way, whilst maximising sales
  • Support line manager in the recruitment, management and training of staff, motivation, rapport and development according to company policies, and ensure relevant HR procedures are followed (monitoring performance, coaching, discipline, grievance and report to direct line manager).
  • Stand in as deputy/store manager in absence of store manager;
  • Check inventory periodically to obtain reorder information to replenish stock; inform designated staff member of stock requirements.
  • Assist in management of cash and payment systems, credit, discounts, returns and exchanges in accordance with company procedures and policies;
  • Following guidelines, implement planned shop merchandising, layout and customer traffic flow so as to maximise sales, customer satisfaction, appearance, image and ergonomics for customers.
  • Liaise with other departments as necessary and attend meetings as required.
  • Seek and continuously develop knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing and tactics, and communicate this to relevant departments in the Company.
  • Assist management to plan, forecast, report on sales, costs and business performance, according to company requirements.
  • Ensure that shop floor and store are clean and tidy at all times.

 

 Role Requirements:

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 3+ years of retail and/or sales experience in sports retail industries.
  • Possess a passion and love for all matters that are and in relation to sports.
  • Experience in retail operations, budgeting, planning, customer service, sales and people leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and retail business systems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within fast paced environments.
  • Strong relationship skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and positive approach to work – attitude is everything.
  • Excellent communication skills – English language skills will be considered an asset.
