The Retail Merchandising Analyst is directly accountable for product performance. The objective of the role is to ensure that optimum stock levels are monitored and maintained, by brand, by store. To assist in increasing profitability and reducing mark down %.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Contribute to the overall Fashion Division Strategy by giving relevant input.
Analyses Inventory risks and opportunities, and implementing inventory allocation strategies, and increases profit margins.
Monitor sales performance across multiple stores/brands on a weekly, monthly and seasonal basis.
Propose commercial actions/stock movement to Retail Function
Produce weekly trade reports to summarise, analyse and identify key profit drivers to enable stock movement, stock reordering and effective buying
Use sales history to formulate a comprehensive buying plan per store within remit, understanding sales growth, future trends and category drivers
Ability to manage Mark Down business strategy, ensuring profit margins are maximised
Ensure correct mix of product available in all stores across geographical area
Collate trade feedback from Store Managers
Monitor retail trends and competitor products to achieve thorough understanding of the industry

Experience Required:

Applicants are expected to have work experience in a merchandising or data analysis role. They must be analytical in their work processes and have strong organisational, problem solving skills.
Advanced knowledge of using computer software such as Excel is essential for this role.
Applicants with experience working in retail industry will be given preference.
