Purpose of the Job

As a Brand Manager you will be responsible for product coordination, development and defining the overall vision and strategy offered by Brand. This position oversees the departments for all internal and external resources needed during each stage of the brand development, from receipt of the product to a store opening/launch. You will work to ensure that a brand remains relevant, up to date and exciting to business partners /customers and plan ways to promote and grow the brand in the territories.

You will work closely with the marketing department on making sure that every aspect of the brand strategy is just right. Brand Managers also need to be in contact with other departments such as finance, marketing communications, sales, respective Country GM’s / Brand Managers and planning to ensure a strategic overview of the business and future market opportunities.

 

Key responsibilities will include     

  • Ensure that the Brand being managed is integrated within the market in an effective manner, reaching the target audience as identified in the planning stages.
  • Stay current on market trends and competitive activity reviewing competitors, their products, marketing and performance, and address competition through the appropriate marketing mix.
  • Works on both Wholesale and Retail opportunities.
  • Daily communications between brand and territory
  • Manages all aspects of profit and loss (P&L), including direct control over operating expenses.
  • Pricing strategy including monitoring of intake margins and pricing in country.
  • Seasonal training / planning.
  • Identifies sales objectives and works with sales team to achieve them.
  • Identifies areas of improvement and puts process improvements into place to achieve them.
  • Monitors market performance and customer feedback in cooperation with customer service.
  • Works with project coordinators.
  • Reviews possibility of maintaining, extending, or terminating a product cycle based on market information and performance.
  • Identify research needs, execute research studies and projects, and analyse research to identify opportunities
  • Establish and maintain brand budgets
  • Responsible for sharing and follow-up on Mystery shopping results
  • Define and manage the brand communication strategy using a variety of media
  • Own the development and messaging of the brand narrative
  • Monitors Marketing budgets and activities across territories.
  • Regular Market Visits in territories we operate in directly and indirectly.
  • Coordinates the seasonal buys with the buying teams.
  • Responsible to lead and conclude “store opening” procedures.
  • Coordinates logistic operations.

 

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge required

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Three years experience in a similar role.
  • Analysing performance
  • Experience in retail, fashion and/or sports
  • A conscientious approach to work.
  • A customer-centric orientation.
  • A qualification in sales or marketing (desirable)
  • Very Good level of English, French and Arabic (desirable)
  • Available to travel.

Excellent Microsoft Office capability: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams as well as the Adobe Suite
