Accounts Executive

Role purpose

Prepares financial statements and reports whilst providing support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks.

The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
  • Issue invoices and input accounts receivable
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Review expenses, payroll records and other documents as assigned
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • Support senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
  • Engage in other accounting projects
  • Support with the preparation of budgets
  • Support in the management of tax payments
  • Organise and facilitate internal audits
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
  • Analyse financial trends and present findings

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or relevant field or studying to obtain ACCA qualification
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in a similar role
  • Able to work with numbers and have analytical acumen
  • Excellent time management abilities and excellent organisational abilities
  • Must have advanced knowledge of accounting software
  • Must have a good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
