Ecommerce Trading Manager

Role Purpose:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong digital skillset and the passion to work closely with multiple teams to shape the future of Hudson’s ecommerce presence.

In this role you will own multiple respective digital sales channels, and every business process around them, from start to finish, leading the initial business development and project management to continuous running and growing of the business.

 Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the WOW! customer experience by learning about Hudson online store products and replying to customer enquiries in a timely, positive, empathetic, and professional manner.
  • Be a primary contact for customer inquiries about our products and brands
  • Keep updated records of customer interactions and comments
  • Coordinate with colleagues, by giving clear handover
  • Assist customers with after-sales service issues
  • Able to communicate concisely our company policies to client
  • Maintain and update regular client correspondence

Position Summary & Key Objectives:

To drive Hudson’s E-commerce sales and margins through merchandising, marketing and content initiatives according to brand strategy and key product stories. 

  • Responsible for execution of the E-Commerce strategy for hudsonstore.com and kiabi.com.mt.
  • Own, manage, and prioritize multiple projects with high-quality output.
  • Provide leadership, development, and supervision to a highly skilled team of E-Commerce professionals.
  • P/L control of the Malta E-Commerce business.

Objectives

  • Actively contribute to further develop Hudson’s E-Commerce strategy, annual budget, and business KPIs focusing on goals for revenue, margin and inventory.
  • Ensure that E-Commerce plans are aligned and follow with Hudson’s overall marketing strategies and brand priorities to achieve cross-channel marketing objectives.
  • Provide ongoing analysis and reporting of sales and margin drivers, identifying root causes and opportunities to drive growth.
  • Maximize on the established marketing, merchandising, planning, and allocation processes.
  • Partner with merchandising and logistics teams to manage inventory health by ensuring efficient inventory flows (including input for efficient forecasting, purchasing, & inventory management).
  • Evaluate brand campaigns and work with the team on creating effective strategies optimized to drive users and consumers to the Online Store(s).
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve E-Commerce strategies, enhance customer experience, and to maximize ROI.
  • Maximize web usability and engagement of consumers based on quantitative and qualitative consumer data.
  • Guide Buying, Planning, Marketing, and Merchandising teams to maintain and timely execute seasonal marketing and promotional calendars on Hudson sites.
  • Manage execution, evaluation, and optimization of site and product merchandising presentation.
  • Identify product opportunities through incorporating competitive analysis, business unit feedback and sales/site performance data and recommend overall brand/product value proposition improvement.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of key competitor products, distribution and pricing strategies as well as stay up-to-date on the latest E-Commerce technologies and trends.
  • Build, manage and retain team of highly skilled E-Commerce professionals.
  • Provide strong leadership, development and supervision to staff in the execution of E-Commerce strategies.
  • Act as a liaison between Digital & CRM, Retail IT and external service providers for regional development initiatives.

Qualifications & Functional Competencies

Education:

  • Master’s degree (or Bachelor with additional work experience) in Business Administration, IT related field or other relevant area.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of hands on E-Commerce experience, with demonstrated business success. Multi-channel retail experience is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of experience in leading a team. Experience hiring and developing high-performance teams.
  • Fluency in E-Commerce best practices and technical environment.
  • Must have experience in working with E-Commerce systems such as Salesforce commerce cloud, Hybris, Magento, Shopify or similar.
  • Generalist experience in Content Management and Merchandising Systems, including analysis of E-Commerce merchandising and sales performance.
  • Experience of project management through platform changes, upgrades, testing and integration of new technology, systems or service providers is a plus.
  • Advanced analytical skills with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze the data and optimize the strategy accordingly

  • Understanding of E-Commerce technology, including platform, payment process, content management, etc.

  • Ability to spot trends (new products, brands) in the marketplace.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Strong understanding of seasonal sport/fashion industry.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization.
  • Business fluent English proficiency. Other languages European languages are a plus.
