Role purpose

As a Financial Reporting Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the monthly business reporting process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Your role will involve consolidating results, conducting in-depth analysis of Group performance, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) against targets.

The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Oversee the monthly business reporting process, consolidating results from various departments.
  • Conduct detailed monthly performance trend analysis, identifying potential issues from variances.
  • Report on KPIs/KRIs against targets, providing insights to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Perform rigorous data quality checks across all reporting systems to ensure the integrity of published reports.
  • Identify variances from budget and forecasts, offering recommendations for potential solutions and improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with businesses and overseas territories to understand drivers of performance and success.
  • Challenge decisions, set financial targets, and manage performance based on analytical insights.
  • Ensure the accuracy of numbers for management reporting, adhering to financial reporting standards.
  • Design new business reports, continuously improve existing reports, and re-engineer reporting processes to meet evolving business needs.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field from reputable institutions.
  • ACCA, CA, CIMA qualification is essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) roles within a regional or global reporting structure.
  • Strong exposure to the retail industry, demonstrating an understanding of its unique financial dynamics.
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Adept at managing monthly business reports, ensuring accuracy, and adhering to financial reporting standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and overseas territories, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated experience in challenging decisions, setting financial targets, and providing strategic financial insights to support business goals.
  • Strong commitment to performing rigorous data quality checks to maintain the integrity of financial reports.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business needs, design new business reports, and continuously improve existing reporting structures.
  • Experience in working within a global reporting structure, understanding the complexities and requirements of multinational organizations.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interpret and provide sound financial commentary.
