Hudson Group is an international retailer and distributor primarily involved in the sport and fashion wear sectors. The Group’s head office is in Malta but is also present through offices in Italy, Cyprus, Morocco, Nigeria and Algeria.

Though Hudson Holdings was founded in 2006, the Group’s roots reach as far back as 1987 when the first pair of NIKE was sold in Malta.

Role purpose

To contribute to the achievement of store sales targets by working with Visual Merchandisers to create demand for products through excellence in visual presentation and merchandising standards

The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Ensure that Brand visual presentation standards are always adhered to
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with VM rep/team of international brand
  • Provide feedback on store sales and customer insights to the operations manager to influence future buying decisions
  • Utilize brand guidelines to create demand for products through dynamic and inspirational presentation
  • Ensure photo packs are sent to the Senior Visual Merchandiser and deadlines outlined
  • Ensure that all displays (including windows) are maintained and replenished as required
  • Ensure markdowns and promotions are launched in a timely manner by establishing product, artwork, in-store position placement in line with brand guidelines
  • Provide input to relevant teams to optimize stores’ space management
  • Develop merchandising floor plans, in line with guidelines issued by the Brand and Buying team, prior to the arrival of each new season’s collection and ensure that these are communicated to the Store Management team in a timely manner
  • Manage the effective use of fixtures on the sales floor and ensure that all merchandising fixtures and fittings are kept in good working order. 
  • Ensure that all signage used on fixtures and other store signage adheres to brand guidelines
  • Where relevant support Sales teams in merchandising the Showroom during sell-in periods
  • Ensuring worst sellers are clearly known to be able to change position and push on sell-through.
  • To ensure that all samples from deliveries are taken out onto the shop floor in a timely manner.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience

  • Up to 1 years’ experience in similar role
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to analyse sales reports and survey results.
  • Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices.
  • Being a creative and innovative thinker.
  • Have the right blend of product knowledge, style, and marketing skills.
