Hudson Group is an international retailer and distributor primarily involved in the sport and fashion wear sectors. The Group’s head office is in Malta but is also present through offices in Italy, Cyprus, Morocco, Nigeria and Algeria.

Though Hudson Holdings was founded in 2006, the Group’s roots reach as far back as 1987 when the first pair of NIKE was sold in Malta.

Role purpose

Help drive critical business decisions by analysing metrics and designing reports. Communicate results to managers and provide recommendations based on such findings.

The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Researching industry trends that may affect the company’s products or services
  • Creating reports based on data analysis or research findings
  • Designing business analysis and data recording systems for use throughout the department
  • Regularly examining data reports to locate and resolve inaccuracies throughout
  • Creating business reports that provide insight into key data points
  • Communicating the result of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers
  • Supporting various departments including the marketing and sales teams in reaching their goals
  • Monitoring data to identify changes in financial and business trends
  • Checking and cleaning data, taking special care to replace erroneous values with correct figures.
  • Answering end user’s questions and provide one-on-one training on reports and reporting as needed
  • Monitoring actual performance and comparing it with the business target
  • Coordinating systems involving the technical and informational base of the business
  • Coordinating project development surveys
  • Providing documentation support, procedure, and financial initiatives for the business
  • Researching and developing reports and budgets, draws conclusions and making recommendations

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience

  • MQF Level 6 in business administration or its equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience as a financial or business analyst
  • Good analytical skills for the development of data-driven reports
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel and financial applications
  • Knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, and information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive business information
  • Effectiveness in time management and the organisation of staff
