Hudson is committed to maintaining a transparent, ethical, and safe work environment for all employees. As part of this commitment, we want to remind you of the Whistleblower Protection Policy, based on the directive outlined by the European Union.

The EU Whistleblowers Directive is a law that protects people who report wrongdoing in their workplace. It ensures that whistleblowers, who speak up about illegal activities, corruption, or harmful practices, are protected from retaliation like being fired, demoted, or harassed.

Here’s how it works, in simple terms:

  1. Protection for Whistleblowers: If you report illegal activities or serious misconduct (like fraud or environmental damage), the law makes sure you’re protected. Employers can’t punish you for doing the right thing.
  2. Who is Protected: It applies to employees, freelancers, suppliers, volunteers, and even job applicants who report wrongdoing within organizations, both public and private.
  3. Reporting Channels: Companies and public bodies must set up clear ways for people to report concerns. A report can be submitted through this form.
  4. Confidentiality: Whistleblowers’ identities are kept secret, unless they choose to reveal them or it’s legally necessary.

In short, the EU’s Whistleblowers Directive aims to create a safer environment for people to report serious issues without fear of losing their jobs or being treated unfairly.

Anonymity

An employee may choose to submit the report anonymously yet this may not allow the Committee to investigate the matter in sufficient detail. Also, those submitting the report anonymously will not benefit from the protections provided by the law.

Whistleblower Committee

The Whistleblower Committee is made of the following individuals:

Kevin Valenzia – Hudson Holdings non-Executive Director

Luca Vella – Legal Counsel

Kalani Weerasinghe – Chief People Officer

For complaints from Hudson Italia employees, these will go directly to: Dott.ssa Carmela Loredana Gatt, con sede legale Via Corelli 4, Fano PU61032,  who will process them and refer them to the Whistleblower Committee.

Complaints from Hudson Malta /Hudson Malta Sales, Hudson Cyprus, Hudson Morocco, Premium Brands (Algeria) and Hudson Brand Development Nigeria employees will go directly to the committee.

What happens after a complaint is submitted

Once a complaint is submitted, an acknowledgement will be sent within 7 working days. Feedback on the claim will be provided within a maximum of 3 months from date of the complaint’s submission. The complaint will be promptly investigated by the whistleblowing reporting committee. The necessary info will be collected. If the complainant is not satisfied that their concern is being properly dealt with by the whistleblowing reporting committee, they have the right to raise it in confidence with the Chief Executive Officer. Where a complaint is raised against a committee member, that member will be replaced in the investigation.
