Marsaxlokk FC has officially unveiled its new Nike kit ahead of the upcoming season, marking an exciting new chapter for the Premier League club and bringing together three strong names in sport: Marsaxlokk FC, Nike and Sports Direct, supported by Hudson Group.
The new kit, sponsored by Sports Direct, combines Nike’s renowned performance technology and contemporary design with the identity and heritage of Marsaxlokk FC. It will be worn by the club’s first team as it prepares for another competitive season in the Maltese Premier League, following an exciting campaign that saw the club compete on the European stage in the UEFA Conference League.
The launch reflects the growing ambition of Marsaxlokk FC both on and off the pitch, while strengthening its connection with its supporters and the wider community. The club’s first-team squad and technical staff were present for the unveiling, with approximately 30 players and staff members attending the event in the club’s full leisure kit.
The collaboration also gives supporters the opportunity to wear the new colours themselves. The Marsaxlokk FC Nike kit will eventually be available through Sports Direct stores, as well as online, allowing supporters both locally and overseas to represent their club.
Speaking at the launch, which took place at Sports Direct in Qormi, George Bugeja, CEO of Marsaxlokk FC, said: “Today marks an exciting milestone for Marsaxlokk FC as we proudly unveil our new Nike kit for the upcoming season. This kit represents our identity, our ambition and the passion that exists throughout our club. We are delighted to work alongside Nike and grateful to Hudson Group and Sports Direct for supporting us in bringing this launch to life.”
Peter Agius, Sporting Director of Marsaxlokk FC, added: “For a club like Marsaxlokk, partnerships such as this are important as we continue to grow and raise our ambitions. Having our players represent the club in a Nike kit is something we are extremely proud of, and we look forward to seeing our team and supporters embrace the new season together.”
Vincenzo Potenza, Head Coach of Marsaxlokk FC, said: “We are very happy to begin the season with this new Nike kit. For the players, wearing the club colours is always a source of pride and motivation, and we are looking forward to giving everything on the pitch this season.”
David Shone, Country Manager at Hudson Group, said: “At Hudson Group, we are proud to support initiatives that bring together sport, communities and leading global brands. This collaboration brings together Marsaxlokk FC’s heritage and ambition, Nike’s global expertise in sport and the reach of Sports Direct. We are delighted to play a role in bringing this partnership to supporters and look forward to seeing the new kit on the pitch and, eventually, in the hands of fans.”
The new Nike kit represents another step in Marsaxlokk FC’s continued development as it prepares for the challenges of the new season. With a strong blend of experience and emerging talent within the squad, the club will be looking to build on its recent successes and continue strengthening its position among Malta’s leading football clubs.
The kit will be made available through Sports Direct at a later stage, giving Marsaxlokk supporters and football fans the opportunity to purchase and wear the club’s new colours.
