Hudson Group has just opened a new 350sqm NIKE store at Level -2 The Point, Shopping Complex. This new store, based on the brand’s latest concept design, not only provides ample space but also better visibility of the multi-sport assortment of product innovation and service, including more comfortable fitting rooms and personalised assistance.
The design, inspired by the brand’s global heartbeat, presents a fusion of contemporary interiors which include wood and metal textures. The store replaces the previous NIKE store on Level 0 within the same complex and displays a wider range of mens and womens footwear and apparel.
The store offers a selection of NIKE best-sellers and essential Running, Training and Sportwear product. Whether the client is shooting balls, training for a marathon or simply love sneakers, this is the place for them.

Through this store, which size and design is at par with NIKE stores found in other European cities, we seek to provide the best of the brand to our customers as well as a unique design and environment. The items available are not just technical in nature, and support athletes fulfil their training duties and sport performance, but the store also presents a vast array of fashion items.” Explained Kevin Grech, Hudson Retail Director.
The first pair of NIKEs sold in Malta was in 1987. Since then, Hudson sought to increase NIKE’s reach both in Malta as well as in Africa. Besides Malta. Through its head office in Malta as well as its subsidiary companies in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, BDI (part of Hudson) manages most of NIKE in Africa as far as sales, marketing and distribution go.
The store’s opening coincided with the Super League Triathlon event taking place in Malta between 27-28 October 2018. The event, sponsored by NIKE, will feature the best triathletes in the world who will compete in a series of fast paced events full of unpredictable moments and drama. The general public are also invited to participate in an Aquathlon and a 5KM Fun run.
Present for the opening were numerous athletes taking part in this globally broadcast event, amongst them NIKE brand ambassadors as well as Super League Triathlon Founder and Chairman Chris McCormack. McCormack is one of the world’s greatest triathletes and was hailed by ESPN as “The World’s Fittest Athlete”. With 14 Ironman titles and more than 220 international race wins to his name, he is the athlete with the most wins in triathlon’s history.

To give the fans a chance to get up close to these athletes as they are tonight is what Super League is all about”
